I remember when I was younger there was a song that asked the question “What’s love got to do with it?” As I grew older I asked myself that question many times. When we see the world through eyes other than God’s it’s really easy to get sidetracked and lose focus on what is really important. Through our own eyes the world is about looking out for number 1, specifically ourselves. But when we see it through His eyes we finally get an answer to that question. What does love have to do with it? EVERYTHING!!!

Promises, promises. A Man’s only as good as his word. Ever heard that saying. You know, it takes on a whole new meaning when we look at it through God’s eyes. What do you think. Is God as good as His Word?

So, you’re about to be betrayed and suffer an amazingly violent death. What do you do? if you guessed have dinner with your buds and talk about love you’d be right. Just when you think Jesus is extremely confusing He goes and continues to show love to people. And not just some people, but all people. I am glad He loves us more than we can handle.

$10,000!! That’s just a ridiculous amount of money to spend on one item you can hold in your hand. Then to use it all at once, that’s just craziness. That’s just one of the taboos that Mary broke in today’s reading. Check it out and think, what am I willing to sacrifice for God?

Somedays just can’t get right no matter what we do. We plan a picnic and it rains. We plan to watch movies and power goes out. We try to cook and no gas. Sometimes life just happens. How do we handle that? We freak out, we stress, we get mad, and we lose sight of the big picture. In today’s devo, Jesus is about to mess up someone’s plans for the day. Are we willing to let Him into our lives, or do we think we can do a better job?

I can’t stand being compared to other people. It’s just one of those things that simply upset me. i today’s reading, not only are we being compared to others, we’re being compared to sheep. Wow, if you’ve never seen a live sheep, I would suggest a field trip. Sheep are, well let’s just say they’re not very smart, and it would be fair to call them extraordinarily smelly. Let’s see what Jesus has to say to us today.

Have you ever wondered why so many people are afraid of the dark? Seriously, most children in America have serious darkness issues. Stack a scary movie on top of it and you’e got screaming children in the middle of the night. Now picture being blind. Complete and total darkness everywhere you go. That’s where we find a man in today’s reading as he tries to get to Jesus to be healed. Hmmmm, makes me wonder if we all need to see a little better?

Forgiveness. Such an easy word to type or say, but when it comes down to actually practicing it, things begin to get a little difficult. For many of your friends God is merely a cosmic killjoy who simply wants to make them follow rules and punish them when they do not do so. Is that what God is like to you? In today’s devo we see Jesus forgiving someone who has obviously sinned. Is this the Jesus we show to the world through our own actions?
